Alex had wanted to create a website (this is not a website, Alex - I can do one of those in an afternoon - Dali!) of this nature for quite some time. Alex and John had done some English courses in the south of England, in the early 2000s, where John was living at the time and they were very successful. (The financial crisis of 2007-8 made companies a little nervous about how they spent their cash in the years that followed). We thought it was a great idea but we didn't have the money to create the platform. Enter Dali! Dali has worked in the Software Development market all over the world with all kinds of companies. As soon as the three of us got together, we knew we had the perfect team to make this project something special for us, and something special for all those people out there that want (and need) to improve their English. We are extremely excited to be working with you.
Alex has been teaching successfully for almost 20 years. The big challenge for us as a team has been to transfer that success in the classroom onto the screen. With Dali's amazing features, some careful thought about how the overall process could work and some seriously hard work, we think we've cracked it.
0 Years of experience...
Much of the material presented on the Web is in bits and pieces - it's more of a reference library than a structured way to engage with the English language. A lot of it is also rather boring. We wanted to construct something much more enticing, instructive, enjoyable and REAL. We are not going to (or trying to!) turn you into grammar experts. We want your experience to be a fruitful, useful one with us - one that helps you achieve what you want to achieve, and lets you do it, when you want to do it. If you are prepared to put some work and effort into your studies, we will do everything we can to help you. We'll also have some fun along the way - we promise!

We've said it. If you enjoy working on your studies at home, on the bus, on the train, on holiday, we've got all aspects covered and it's a vitally important route to success.
It's a big part of having fun. If you are struggling with grammar, you can do a huge amount of other activities to help you keep focused and return to more difficult material (for you) at a later stage. You might find answers to some of your problems in other material too. Remember - only your hard work will lead to success.
No one cares about perfection (if, indeed, there is such a thing) within the English language except grammar experts and their views vary too. Our purpose is to try to equip you with good, decent, practical skills that will help you explore the English language and use it for whatever purposes you need or desire.
Because we are not in the classroom with you, we have had to devise ways in which to monitor your progress. It is important for us to be able to put in place certain checks that ensure your progress continues in a structured and managed way - assessments!
This is a really key area of your continuing development. Please, don't feel that you have no option but to take part in this area of the site - we understand that not everyone wants to be included. It will make your chances of success better, though, and you might make a few friends too.
